Our Sewer Services Overview
SEWER UPGRADES
WCSD is striving to reduce costs and negative impact on the plant caused by leaking sewer mains and residential laterals. Between March 17 - June 1, 2025, VisuSewer has been contracted to do light cleaning and joint repairs in the main lines and the same in residential laterals.
The goal is to reduce rain water flow by 35-50%. This will, in turn, aid significantly in the impact of non-waste water entering the system.
Please note: if you have a sump pump or drainage from gutters that drain into the sewer system, this is illegal. WCSD will assist you in realigning your drainage to enter the village storm drains instead of the septic systems.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
We have received reports of significant water overflow from toilets as Visu-Sewer conducts repairs on various sections of the sewer mainline. We have informed Visu-Sewer management and requested that they provide clear daily communication regarding the streets they will be servicing, including placing agreed-upon notifications on the doors of affected properties. To reduce the impact of pressure fluctuations in the lateral lines leading to your home, please keep the toilet lids closed. While some gurgling or surging may occur, it is infrequent, and we understand the frustration it can cause when your home is affected. It is important to note that any water spilling from your toilet is not wastewater from the cleaning process but rather water from your own plumbing system. This is a sewer district operation and not affiliated with Thurston or Pleasantville. Concerns can be directed to 740-400-4455.
